And buy a modest home theater receiver with 5.1 or 6.1 capability. A decent Yamaha full-featured model runs about $300-350 these days, and will give you satisfactory HT sound. If your floorstanders have adequate bass, you can run them full-range as your HT mains and not miss a sub -- especially a thump box like the Sony.Future upgrades would then include a solid sealed sub (Dayton Titanic kit for $350 or Adire Rava for $400) -- which would help both movie & music playback -- then 5.1-7.1 separates, and finally a top-quality DVD such as the Panny RP-91 . . .

Option 2 with an entry receiver from Denon, Onkyo, etc... your amp for front channels, better sub later...
