I have heard some talk, from a local hi-fi shop, about the industy going to firewire and/or optical cables in the very near future for hookup to video projectors and the like. I think the idea is that this is a superior method to s-video or component-video for connection. Any truth to this, and if so where could I find an article about this information? Thanks in advance.

Go to WWW.AVSforum.com for more info.Don't buy a HDTV at this time that does not have DVI/IEEE 1394 connectivity. All 2003 sets will have this feature. Basically what will happen in the future is that you will not be able to watch some programs broadcast in HDTV in HDTV without it; the signal will be "dummied" down to lower resolution.
Thanks for your feedback. Will this hold true for DLP, LCD etc type of projectors as well? Thanks again in advance.
