Our Big screen died (Magnavox MAG9P5534). It's under warranty so it's being replaced with another TV. I was told it would be the same model, but I just compared invoices, and the replacement is going to be a Samsung (SAMPCL545).I'm wondering if I should just take the Samsung or go back and ask for a comparable Magnavox. The TV is about 3 years old, so I'm sure they don't have the same one, plus, I didn't notice any Phillips/Magnavox TV's when I was browsing around the store.
One thing, the Samsung is HDTV upgradeable, the Magnavox wasn't. The actual price is about $250 less for the Samsung.

You should check your warranty contract. In most cases if they cannot fix it, they have to replace it with same model, or if same model is not available then they can offer other options. If you don't like other options you are entitled for your money back in full what you have paid for it (sometimes even including inflation rate). Just read carefuly what your warranty covers. Make sure you check this Samsung very good to make sure you want to take it. Once you sign for it, that's it.
Your case is when they lose money, so don't let them talk you into something you do not have to take. Just take it easy, and ask them all possible questions.
