I have had my HT setup for almost 2 years. No problems. I put a movie on the other night (Monster's Inc.) and I could only get the sound out of my multi channel receiver in the analog mode. Also, no sound at all out of the rear speakers or Center channel.I have a Pioneer Elite VSX-21 with a Pioneer Elite DV-434. I checked the programming on the receiver and all seemed to be ok. I do not have the instructions for the DVD player but I haven't done anything different to it. I'm am baffled. I am mostly a 2 channel guy and not that experienced with HT programming. Anyone have a clue. I would appreciate any input.

I have a denon 2801 and denon 2800 dvd player. Check to see that you have the digital input assigned to the dvd mode properly usually is done in the receiver menu, make sure your digital out on the dvd player is active (some player let you turn it off), make sure you are in the DD/DTS mode on the dvd input and that you have it set to get the input from the digital out of the dvd player. Thats about I'll I can think of, sometimes my dvd's have no sound and its as simple as hitting the digital/analog input selector button once. Later.
Thanks so much for the info.
