Hello,Just wondering what experiences folks have in comparing picture quality of PC based DVD vs. standalone DVD players with digital projectors. The advantage of the DVD player is certainly convenience (for my setup), but I was wondering if a better picture is achievable using PC. Appreciate any thoughts/experiences/opinions etc.
TIA,
Follow Ups:
I can't be much help, since I haven't used a HTPC with my PJ. However, I'm not a fan of the HTPC concept because it breaks away from the keep-it-simple school of thought. I simply don't want to mess around with a computer just to watch a film! While I'm just going from a DVD player to the PJ right now, I'd like to implement a nice scaler at some point. (I blew the budget on the PJ alone.) A HTPC probably wouldn't do any better but I suspect it would be cheaper. That's the main advantage of HTPC as far as I can tell.
