I have a pioneer VSX-D511 Audio/video multichannel receiver, Pioneer DV535 DVD player and Infinity SM80 speakers. I have just recently tried to add 3 new speakers (center and 2 rear) for surround sound. They were Sansui with an impedance of 4-8 ohms, the infinity's are 8ohms. When I connected them into the system and selected prologic on the amplifier I had to increase the volume on the amplifier to twice the normal volume I was using when watching a DVD in stereo mode.
My question is this normal for prologic surround sound or are the new speakers causing an impedance mismatch.
