Does the "Subwoofer Output/L.F.E. Out" at the back of an A/V Receiver
have a specified Crossover point(my receiver's manual never stated
this, at least I don't remember reading that in the manual)? I'm
asking this because I read somewhere that it's better to have the
crossover on the subwoofer(s) disabled or set to the highest
frequency setting to avoid cascading effects of two series crossovers
and also I heard that Onkyo's line of receivers have an adjustable
subwoofer crossover. So is it really "better" to have the crossover
on the subwoofer(s) disabled or set to the highest frequency setting?
Follow Ups:
if it is a DD or DTS receiver you can change the x-over frequency, but i don't know specifically since you did not tell us what equipment you have.... And NO, some defaults are set to 120 Hz and not 80Hz.
It will be 80hz standard THX on the receiver, unless you can choose different...
