I currently have a 4-year old Toshiba SD-2109 DVD player. It works fine, but refuses to "read" some DVDs. I assume this is due to format? It reads most commercially made movie DVD's, but other DVDs and ones that I burn on my computer it refuses to read and play. So I want to get a new DVD player, especially since I've upgraded my whole Audio system. I've got the Infinity Prelude MTS system with center speakers. Also have Rogue Magnum amp and pre-amp for the audio portion of my system. I've been listening/watching DVD's through my Onkyo TX-DS575 receiver. Any suggestions on a decent DVD player? Someone on another board said a good Sony DVD is probably all I need. I'm not a A/V fanatic. I only watch them occasionally. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What's your budget? Are you going to listen to CDs through the DVD player?
The Panasonic RP-82 is highly rated for its video quality and is around $229. The Denon 1600 is more expensive ($499), but is as good on the video and sounds much better for music.
