In Reply to: Adcom v Denon for HT.....I Need Some Advice posted by The Big Guy on February 16, 2003 at 11:22:12:
They both used to make good gear. Denon went mass market and Adcom went to China. I still find Adcom very satisfactory for non critical listening. I have had adcom gear in my system off and on for 20 years and currently have a GFA5400 amp driving my rear speakers, Aerial 5's. Try to buy from a local dealer that is authorized to service adcom. You may need his services. And having said that, Denon got a bad rep a couple of years ago for making unreliable gear.
