I have an Outlaw 1050 AV Receiver that I'm using as a Pre/Processor (center, sub, and rear speakers connected) out to a B&K ST1400MKII (front speakers connected). When listening to music I would like to use a separate preamp which would mean disconnecting the pre-out from the Outlaw to the B&K and connecting it to the preamp. If I should inadvertantly power on the 1050 in this configuration (no main speakers hooked up), would any damage occur?
Follow Ups:
It sounds like if you do this switch, there is no signal coming to the Outlaw. If that's true (or even if it's not) there will be no damage done to the Outlaw or the speakers it is connected-to. The only way you could do damage is if you tried to reconnect a preamp input to the Outlaw while it was powered-up.
