I am looking for lst system and would appreciate your recommendation for electronics and speakers. Outlaw seems pretty good but a bit more than want to spend. Wish could get a little cheaper.speakers: at top of my list are ascend, polk, klipsch. need to spend 1K to 1.5 K for speakers. about 1.5k for the electronics. could you help? thx

Can't help with the Outlaw question (I am happy with my Denon equipment). However with regard to the speakers, I have heard the current Polk and Klipsch lines and you can do a lot better for the money. I have not heard the Ascend's but they have been favorably reviewed and they use Audax drivers similar to my Audax HT which is in a whole other class above the Polks and Klipsch reference series.

I bought a "used" 1050 Receiver for $300 + shipping on the Outlaw Saloon forum. At that price, the answer to your question is NO. Actually, at full price, the answer would still be NO. Check out FS posts on the forum. Many people are selling the 1050 and upgrading to Outlaw separates.
