Many DVD players come with VGA output. Is there i big difference in quality using VGA instead of Component. I do not have one of those player but was just curious to find out the difference.Any information on the subject would be appreciated.

The only advantage that a VGA output might provide is if you need the ability to feed analog video from the DVD player to a computer monitor (where a VGA input is typically found). On a side note, Panasonic's plasmas have VGA inputs that can be configured to accept analog component video from a source (ie, a DVD player or an STB/satellite receiver). This is done with a component-to-VGA cable : three cables plug into the source's component outputs and end up in a VGA connector which plugs into the plasma's VGA input.
And just a side note. The "VGA" connector is not normally used in high quality video. With graphics workstations, either the 13W3 style or even component BNCs are preferred for high resolution (high bandwidth) video signals to the display. If you have a choice, use something other than the "VGA" connector.
