In Reply to: Anybody Test Signal Difference Between Component & DVI Outputs on HD Cable? posted by WaWaZat! on October 14, 2003 at 21:28:25:
First make sure that your cable co is utilizing the DVI input, some don't. Usually straight source to monitor cabling is the best way to go, but what I have read is that the DVI format does better for the DLP/plasma tvs, and that analog crt tvs don't benefit that much.
Buy a cable from a store that has a good return policy, like circuit city, and try it out. Supposedly the new HD-DVD players will output only DVI-HDCP, so your inputs won't go to waste.
I also own a PE (730HD), and found the Home Theater Spot pioneer forum to be the best if you want specific Elite info.
