Ok, as my earlier post said, I bought a Pioneer LD 660. Also bought a copy of Jurrasic Park to go along with it. Tried it, worked fine on all sides. Last weekend, found a Pioneer CLD-V700. Its a combination LD-Karaoke player. Looked good, but couldn't find much info on it. Tried it out and guess what? It works well, until the scene on the first side where everyone see's the movie about dinosaur dna! Skips, and in general acts up. If I had purchased the CLD-V700 first, I would have thought the disk was defective. Anyone got any clues? Doesn't make sense to me.
Follow Ups:
Out of curiosity, have you cleaned the laser with a cleaner? When mine acts like that I just throw on the cleaning disc with a little fluid and walla it's all set to go again....
Cleaned the player after my post. Did help, but didn't fix the problem entirely. Got a copy of "Mr Holland's Opus" today. Tried the newer player, worked flawlessly, so I'm sure it's not the player.
