It's a matter of preference... and perhaps physiology. LCD is often criticized for screen door effect, but DLP is very often criticized because it causes some people to see rainbows. This is apparently based on how our eyes work and some people don't see them... but for those that do, it's supposed to be very distracting.I'd suggest going over to www.avsforum.com to read the display devices section. Check out front projection under $3500 and read away. A few projectors are noted as being very strong performers - the Sanyo PLV-Z2 is a 16:9 LCD that people are raving about. The Infocus X1 (recommended by jaroslaw bulnowski as well) is a good 4:3 DLP projector that a lot of people brag about. This really isn't the best forum for video, so check them out.
