Simplicity would seem on the side of the front projector.
Follow Ups:
Either can work -- depends upon how big you want the screen, how dark you can get the room, how close you want to sit, etc. However, what ever your choice, don't buy without looking at DLP displays. They come in both projector and conventional "box" configuration. In the "TV set" configuration, they are quite new. DLP does NOT require convergence and does NOT degrade with time. All other technologies are now obsolete.
That and the SAF (or WAF). How much ambient light? Can you black out the room? Are you able to permanently install an overhead projector? Personally in my room (it is my room and it's very dark) I chose a projector. Partly to get a TV out from between the speakers (more of a music buff than video). Also the ability to get a much larger screen. My 84" is on the small side for a projected screen.
