I purchased a Sony WE610 and the lamp went out. They brought me a loaner Sony WE50 the same day. The 50" went out the next day and they brought me a Samsung 61" DLP. I have the option of keeping the Samsung, getting the Sony when the new ones are shipped without the defect or whatever. Need some suggestions. Have about 3,500.00 invested so far. Samsung will be about 800.00 more. What do you think???? Purchase was at Ultimate Elec.

Currently, the Sony repair procedure is 1) making some repairs to the board, then if it doesn't work, 2) replacing the bulb with a different bulb, which just came out. Service tech from Sears and Circuit city, etc have been doing this repair at home under warranty.I personally prefer the PQ of Sony over Samsung (besides I get a headache with Samsung DLP). Sony's being built currently should have the bulb problem fixed. Then again, the delivery time is probably not that soon if you wait. Also, consider that some time this year, the "new" improved DLP technology TV's will be released as well as probably new generation of Sony LCD (probably end of year)...
They said they would repair but I wanted a new one since it was 2days old. They explained the repair but let me opt to wait fro a new one. I would wait for the new tech but it is like waiting for the production cars from Detroit. Thanks for the help.
