I use four 1.6's and the relatively new CC-3 center channel. This is the best HT I have ever had in various incarnations since 1989. Maggies allow you to get DEEPLY involved in a (good) film of whatever genre, and the suspension of disbelief is the highest I have ever had on any sytem. They require high current and high power (I am putting 400 wpc into 4 ohms all around). All five are equi-distant from the sweet spot and are meter calibrated at the same level using a reference of 75db. And if you put the rears "edge on" toward the eweet spot the rear "fill" is such that I don't think you really need the extra back channel, whether into one speaker or two (although I do have an extra 1.6 and may try it).
