I am not sure if this is the right forum? I run video from a computer to my TV for instant access films off a disk array but I need to increase quality of signal. The problem is the cable run is 10m, about 30ft, and I have very mild traffic light effect on some films. Its kind of funny, its like an ambulance has parked just off set and the flashing lights can be seen reflected on white surfaces, not good. Its worse on loud passages possibly because my audio is carried in same svhs/scart lead? I have tried with computer on a short lead and its great, but even heavily silenced I could still hear it in the same room so it had to go elsewhere. What I need to know is should I blow my money on an expensive svhs lead or do I need to increase the strength of the signal? Or both? I've tried radio transmitter and it was even worse, very poor quality picture and straight back to the shop.
Any ideas welcome

I tried to do a cheapie job with ordinary cabling but it was not a great success. There are relatively inexpensive distribution amps around which combine audio & video so I recommend you investigate them. I have a run even longer than yours and get a very satisfactory video signal with composite video so I would not bother with s cabling. The differences are often not all that great between composite & s. IMO you need to go to component to get the most dramatic lift in quality and that is not an issue here.Sorry but I cannot recommend any specific breed of distribution amp as the one used here is made in Australia, but there are a lot to choose from and I doubt the differences are significant.
You could try a pair of Belden 1694a coaxial cables with S-video breakout into BNC connectors at each end. DIY or just order from someone like Bluejeans.
