In Reply to: Anyone psyched (like me) about the new Sherwood-Newcastle P-965? posted by Bob C on February 17, 2004 at 19:46:04:
I am following this item very carefully, and I have arranged for an in-home trial of the P-965 as soon as it ships. Current expected ship date is Feb. 23rd. Feature-wise, this thing looks like a catagory killer in the under $2500 price range. My concern is sonics, especially in 2-channel, and how the "remastering", which is upsampling, is implemented. Sherwood's previous pre/pro was received well by both commercial and private reviewers, so I have high hopes for this new model. I will try to post a review here if I end up buying a P-965, but I also post to an active thread at AVSForum.com, in the PreAmp/Processor/Amplifier forum. In that forum, Jeff Hipps, Sherwood America's product developer and marketing coordinator also posts. Sherwood seems like a very user-friendly company genuinely concerned with customer satisfaction.
