Does anyone who is knowledgable...ie (don't need 1100 replies as to what someone thinks it could be), know why when I play dvd's on my player I get small green dots across the screen in what appears to be a diagonal pattern? I can get them to disappear by hitting the jog/shuttle button which makes me believe it is a speed or tracking issue. Then when the disc goes into the secon layer the dots re-appear and I have to jog/shuttle them away again.
My local tech is having trouble diagnosing it and has already replaced a part which he thought would fix it but, to no avail. ( I can't tell you which part was replaced as he told me once over the phone and I didn't write it down), Something to do with the speed he thought.
thanks in advance,
Dewmonster

Sounds like an alignment Issue.... i would go into the service menu and go through the aligment procedure for that and the other playable discs (CD and SACDs)Sam
P.S. just Google for DVP-S9000ES Service Menu to find out how to get to it....
