I can't believe people are trying to turn this into a Republicans vs Democrats thing. Congress seems to have no Electronics experts yet it passes laws on technology.They are the governing body that will always do this. Cassettes didn't hurt the recording industry but CD burners and the internet have. Don't get me wrong I shed no tears for the industry whatsoever but their needs to be some protection for the artists and holders of the copyrights. It seems OK to me to not limit old analog VCR's and just the digital stuff where high grade copies that could be resold illegally could be easily produced. Look what the Chinese are doing-you think thats good for business or people in the long run.......... Now corporate penetration in media and monopolies gobbling up affilaites is another story.
