Due to a recent move, a portion of my living room is now doubling as a listening "room". My Tivo makes too much fan noise for my taste and I've been told by the manufacturer that disabling the fan will result in bad ju-ju. Have any of you modded to water cooling? Thanks in advance."When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro."

i've seen some posts about this over at http://www.tivocommunity.com/Sounds like a great idea though... the case of the tivo is easy to cut. they have a new fanless tower cooler that mounts externally that would make it rather silent (sans the drives). I have used Dynamat Extreme on the drives and the inside of my DirecTivo with Dual 160GB drives.... it really reduces the noise quite a bit.
i changed out the fans with the ones that came with the 'cool breaze' bracket from www.Weakness.com and the fans are much lower in dB.
good luck.
Thanks, Sam. Great info. I never thought about the Dynamat -- seems like a natural in addition to the water cooling.
