I am considering this universal player. How does it compare:1. As an SACD player v SONY SCD777ES or later models.
2. As a CD player, v (for example), Meridian 508.24Thanks.

I have a Modwright modified 47Ai, and the upgrades made a big difference to audio use (CD, SACD and DVD-A). I can't comment on a stock unit. I wouldn't expect that the audio of a stock 59Ai is much better than the stock 47Ai. My modded unit does not approach the quality of sound produced by my Pcx modded SFCD-1, but it's very good.
