This is the very first press release and, as far as I know, the only information available on the DVD-5910.The only thing that gets me is that all of the Realta chip's capabilities may not be available to the consumer, which would be an individual manufacturer's decision based on what they thought the consumer should have access to. Fuck that! Screw the general consumer and his/her ignorance. With a chip like that and the cost of the products that it will appear in, give me access to every damn parameter that Teranex/SiliconOptix allows makes available.
I had my eyes set on either a DVDO or Lumagen video processor, but after I read the current 10+ pages of the thread on AVS (in the Video Processor section) it would be asinine to invest any money in such a product not based around the Realta chip. I have a feeling that both of these companies will come out with a new product based on the Realta chip: the question is When?
Now, if Denon offered inputs on the DVD-5910 and gave those signals access to the Realta chip...
