Yes, that seems to always be the case. However, a video processor is probably the best use for this chip (actually, it's literally a video processor on a chip!). Every video source that one has can be routed to the video processor, the image processed and then sent to the display according to what's the best format/resolution for that display. That said, it will probably end up in more displays than processors or source components due to cost.SDI from a DVD player through this chip would definitely cause a double-take when compared to HDTV.
