Video Asylum

During the last 2 months my 3 year old Pioneer elite 510-HD RP TV has started showing shifting brightness, esp in dark pictures. There is also a blue arc across the top 3-4 inches of the screen, in all modes except full.There are a lot of comments about the shifting brightness issue on Home Theater Spot and most think it's either cold solder problems or a problen in one of the powerboards. I had a tech come by and he spent 3 hours resoldering many of the boards without any help.He then went to the front and manually tried to turn off each CRT gun and found that he couldnt turn the Blue CRT gun all the way off. He then was able to place the CRT board assembly form the Blue gun onto the Green gun and the green gun seemed to work OK. He then stated that the problem can only be the Blue crt gun itself and need to be replaced. DOES THIS SOUND RIGHT??? Any help would be appreciated. Jim
