Yes they do. There are two code sets I use to program remotes. The newer 811 and 921 uses a RF remote which has IR emitters on the front of the remote, but the IR emitters do not send IR codes for the Dish receiver, only IR codes for TVs, VCRs and DVDs. There is an advanced menu, that will send out IR codes from the box itself to your learn remote. If you search through the menus you will find it. I am pretty sure they have a brief explanation of this in the manual. Some of the SD boxes that came with RF remotes will have the codes that control the 811 directly, but if you don't have access to one of those, you will have to use the IR-out on the box, its a little slower, but will work. THen I have found there is another set of IR codes, which I believe are for their slightly older SD boxes, but these will not work on your newer box, if that is what you have. Then you can also code their remotes to have different frequencies if there are several of the same boxes in a remote location for multiroom distribution. So if you borrow another remote from someone, be careful to find out if it was intended to be used as one of several for specific rooms and definately don't try to change it unless you know what secondary code it is supposed to be before you set it back to the default code set. It can get a bit confusing if you haven't done this before, so your best bet is getting the codes from the front of the box. I am not an expert at all the Dish stuff, but I am pretty confident this information is correct. If there is an easier way, I just haven't found it. I just looked up Dish in the new Universal MX350 and MX850 manual and it has one code set for Dish. Sorry, but I don't have the ability to check it here. Good luck.
Follow Ups:
it didn't make much sense to me. For instance, I don't know what an SD box is. I don't care about other frequencies for other remotes in other rooms....I just want to program my TV remote to control the dish receiver.I have a Dish Network 301 receiver and a Sharp LC32G4U TV with remote. If anybody knows where to look for codes that might work I would really appreciate the information.
Thanks
