Hello everone...I am considering a used Denon 5900(many around now for $950,no warranty)or a new 3910.I have read that the 3910 has a slightly better video picture, but the 5900 has a bit better audio performance. This may all be mute if I use the firewire connections for audio to my pre/processor.I also understand that the Sony 999ES is a good player without the Dvd-Audio and digital connections.
Thanks

I have never seen a 5900, however, the 3910 has very good audio and its picture is as good as I've seen (got one for Christmas). I don't know how the 5900 sounds, but I suspect its not much better than the 3910. The only caveat I would give is that the 3910 seems to have troubles with a few discs (freezing, jumps - mostly when its good and warmed up) that a cheap Sony plays perfectly (not many, but it is frustrating - I've seen an Arcam that had similar problems - is it something about high performance players that they don't 'track' as well as cheap ones?).
