IMHO, the best surge protectors are definetly NOT the point of use type (strips,brick walls, etc..) they are the ones that install at the breaker box.... Path of least resistance will be right at your box...last thing i want is to have the surge travel through my house before it hits an MOV or such.... chances are you will fry other things in your house that are not protected!They cost less than a premium point-of-use type device and are VERY effective... The reliability of my Home Automation devices has gone up enough to pay for itself in no time.
