Video Asylum

I am making DVD-RW's of home TV shows, old concerts and home Hi8 videos of my child's concert and shows at school.

I view them on the unit without a hitch, and view it on my Pioneer Elite Universal DV47Ai also without a hitch.

But when I try to play on my Cyberhome 300 (website and instructions state that it'll play this format), the disc material looks like a bunch of large pixels without a smooth show. Same thing with identical picture on low priced combi Magnavox TV/VCR/DVD.

I tried finallizing as if it was a DVD-R but no menu option for that on RW's. Am I doing something wrong? I think so. Sound is fine.
