I've got a sharp z10000 (the latest is the z12000) and the difference between this a a cheaper lcd is very significant. Colors are brighter, image sharper, more depth and dimensionality. On a good dlp, you won't notice moire effects much (if at all) and pixelation isn't an issue. Personally, I don't even like high-end LCD's because of the pixel structure problem and I find the DLP's to be a much smoother picture (and more "film-like"). Especially if you are trying to run a large screen such as a 100-110, I'd go with more firepower. Don't get cheap on the projector because this is what you are going to be watching after all.

By the way, I'd look at the sharp and the marantz models and make sure to get at least the second generation dlp chip if not the latest -- it provides for blacker blacks.

Now if you want a pain in the butt with an INCREDIBLE picture, pick up a cheap 8" Sony crt projector (G70) or 9" for roughly the same money you are talking about for the lcd (G70's go for about $5K) or dlp (G90's go for about 10K). I have a G70 in my main HTR (8' screen) and it just can't be beaten by even a good dlp. Yes, the crt's are big, cumbersome and a pain to set up, but the picture is still the best out there if you can control ambient light.
