The only difference between HDMI and DVI is that HDMI connection can also carry digital audio signal. DVI can only carry digital video signal, which is the same quality as HDMI video signal.I watch DVD's upsampled to 1080i via my DVD player into my HD TV. Some of the well-produced DVD's can look stunning, but upsampled DVD does NOT equal true HD.
