Go directly to the display and bypass the Lexicon. Any unnecessary electronics in the signal path -- audio or video -- can only degrade the signal. Quality should never take a backseat to convenience, unless quality is not a priority.Your display probably does best with a 1080i signal. The scaler in most DVD players that scale are usually better than their display scaler counter-parts. Not always, but more often than not. If you use an outboard scaler (which does deinterlacing as well), chances are the image will be better than what the Mitsubishi is capable of doing on its own.
The DVD-5910 uses Terranex's Realta chip to do deinterlacing and DVDO's scaling algorithm to upscale DVDs to 1080i.
