1. plasmas have a half life of at least 60K hours now...and some are coming out with 100K hours (not 20K like listed in the article)2. burn-in problems with plasmas are mitigatible via various things like wobbling/orbiting and colored side-bars and screen wipes, etc...
3. the price differential mentioned for plasma vs lcd does nto hold water!

You're right, that 20K hour life figure for plasma seemed very outdated. I recall seeing those figures when plasmas first hit the market.Manufacturers are now on their 3rd or 4th generation screens with improvements in many areas including life span. And it's not like the screen out right fails at X hours, it goes to about half brightness is how I understand it. Even with a low 20,000 hour 'life', if you watch for 10 hours a day, 365 days per year, thats still well over 5 years!
