How do these two lines compare, all that I know is that, Rotel is a British brand and Sherwood Newcastle is an American brand. Of the dvd players which have a better picture and sound and what receiver has better sound, processing, for music and movies. Thanks, Gerald. The Sherwood Newcastle universal player looks good, any opinions?

Well you are sorta right, both have their "roots" in England, but both have manufacturing overseas. Really it depends on the model, you are looking at, but many are made in the Far East. Sherwood seems to have a smaller lineup compared to Rotel. I heard the receivers & thought them close, based on the poor listening situation. Your mileage will vary.
