the one sa-cd that couldn't be played on the 955 is the celine dion sa-cd. based on this piece of evidence, i'm sure most inmates here will say "forget about it, keep the sony!"

actually there's 3 other sa-cds that the 955 cannot play...!
search the hi-rez archives. i hinted as such.

did you already compared the sound between the 2 units?

the sony's sound quality can be improved (quite audibly) when one (or two) of its factory default setting is changed. again search the hi-rez archive on the "DRC" issue.

make sure you got the ac polarity correctly orientated.
