Try recording the dvd at speed 1x. This solved all problems like yours for me. My Apple can record a dvd in 3 mins. Sometimes I have slow this powerhaus down.

Good advice if burning from a computer, but it also won't read them when burned from a Samsung DVD Recorder, which I assume burns much slower?I'll try to find the setting for burn speed on the mac's at work.
