In Reply to: Help with a choice between two DVD players. Any help would be great. posted by Rich S. on March 1, 2006 at 17:53:33:
Both seem to have the same features but the 80V is a current model.
I'd go with it. Read the two reviews of it on audioreview.com.

I am using an ancient LXI TV right now, can you recommend a good site for mid priced TVs which have the resolution to handle DVD output? Thanks again for the help, I am learning about DVD video as I go.best,
Hi Rich,
Sorry for the delay. All new TVs can handle DVDs. The 80V only has
analog video outputs (composite, S-Video and component). Virtually
all new TVs have those inputs. I don't know what you're looking for,
i.e. CRT, LCD or Plasma. I don't know where you live, but if you
want a CRT it's best to buy locally because shipping will be too
expensive, although home delivery could be $50. CRT is still the best
value. That's what I have (Samsung). LCD is getting better and
coming down in price. I'm considering it for its light weight and
slim size. The model I'd buy is the Samsung LN-R268W 26". . .beats the Sharps. The best site I found is B&H Photo in NYC. But I live in
Connecticut. I've ordered 3 times from them with no problems. Same
day shipment. They have your 80V for $116.90. That Samsung LCD I
mentioned cost $900 (a far cry from my $249 CRT!). Their website is
bhphotovideo.com. Hope this helps.
