Last year's U50 Panasonic was great, and the U60 is better yet. Has two HDMI ports and a 10K to 1 contrast ratio rather than 1 hdmi and about 3K to 1. Blacks supposed to be outstanding. And the U60 costs less.

Burn in isn't the problem it once was because 1. current TVs are not as susceptable, and 2. far more HDTV channels/shows that fill the entire screen.

Also, I think 34" is too small. I have a 32" hdtv for my bedroom, and now wish it were at least 37". I'm about 8-9 feet from the screen.
