I was an early adopter of a shiny new Toshiba SD-9200 DVD-Audio player. It was wonderful ... until it failed to play more and more disks. Now it is a very heavy Dolby Digital DVD-Video player and sometimes HDCD player, with a very cool loading mechanism.

My point is that I won't EVER be fooled by Toshiba again. I also don't understand why it is imperative to throw 2 NEW competing formats at the marketplace, and virtually abandon the 2 most recent dying NEW formats; DVD-A and SACD. I know that there is no answer, but I will be damned if I spend another $2,000 on a first-version model of ANYTHING. Fool me once, shame on you ... well, you know the rest. Mike.
