I want to set up a simple surround system in my bedroom with my Outlaw rig that has been replaced in the main HT system. My question is: since there is no room in my bedroom for a center, can I drop the output gain in the pre/pro and send the center signal to the TV, using its speaker as my center?

You can but there will be a decided tonal mismatch between the speakers, causing poor pans and interference with the supension of disbelief. Have you considered a "phantom" center?
