Since agreement was reached on the new hdmi 1.3 format several months ago, does anyone know whether any of the processor/receiver manufacturers have plans for including 1.3 capability in their units? Also, are any manufacturers of DVD players, such as Oppo, planning to incorporate the 1.3 format in their players? I would be interested in knowing more about the surround audio to be incorporated in BluRay disks (and perhaps HD DVD?)
Follow Ups:
that that was one issue why the Sony and Pioneer Bluray machines were delayed so long.
There will be some receivers coming out with 1.3 this fall/winter-as well as a few TVs.The XA2 HD DVD player will have it, as will some of the new BD players. I don't know about SD DVD players. Does it matter? Personally, I don't really care that much about lossless 5.1 via HDMI, and I don't know if *any* software has deep color encoded. Are there any TVs that can handle deep color? The best thing about 1.3, is that it is supposed to aleviate the common "Handshake" issues.
