Take a DVD player with 5.1 analog out.

Receiver or AMP for L and R
Another Receiver or amp for RRear, and L rear
Another Amp or receiver for Center
A powered Sub.

I have the above set up using vintage amps ( receivers ) bought at tag sales for $ 20.00 each. Case in point Yamaha CR 420 for $ 15 .
Plenty of Vintage speakers around also , cheap.

You just have to adjust the volumes seperately, but it works fine.
