Look down the main Video Asylum page for my response entitled "here's a 42" model" for a 1920x1080 display suggestion in your budget. As for an ATSC receiver, you can get one for $200 or less to add to the suggested display.

For good reception, mountains may be a problem. You may have to get cable if reception in your area isn't good enough for a quality signal. No antennas or dish receivers won't help with reception.
