I read that the Sony PlayStation 3 is the first consumer product to offer the HDMI v1.3 interface. Are there any other products available today that use HDMI v1.3?
Should we expect to see numerous products with HDMI v1.3 throughout 2007?
I'm wondering if I should wait on buying a pre/pro with HDMI until HDMI v1.3 is widely available.
Follow Ups:
I think you should wait, and I speak as someone who is also waiting. The whole point of waiting is to try--as far as possible--to buy equipment whose obsolescence date is farther out. To be sure, we are always on an technological incline that makes our current gear obsolete, but one can still chose to upgrade at certain times.YMMV, but I don't want to have to upgrade equipment any more often that is absolutely necessary.
HDMI 1.3 is an important development, with HDMI 1.3a being released in Nov 2006. It will begin to appear in more hardware in 2007.
The benefits are outlined in the article below. Among other things, note that it handles the new lossless audio formats (Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD), which are/will be utilized by the new hi-rez video formats (blu-ray, HD-DVD).

Toshiba's HD-XA2 has the 1.3. A few TVs have it, and more will have it in '07. I've been told there will be a few receivers coming out with it.
Personally, I think its more hype than anything else. What does it do? Carry lossless 5.1? 7.1? It'll carry deep color, but no source actually has it, or plans to get it anytime soon.
Whoopee.
