Good advice. I went w/ a projector a number of years ago for the size/$ benefit as well as having a relatively 'clean' den. I also did not want a big TV between my speakers. A 720p on a projector is not bad at all at 12+ feet viewing distance, and like you I plan to hold out until the 1080p projectors fall into my price range. I don't use a screen right now, but would at least try a Greywolf due to its low cost and good feedback on the net.
