The new player will also play CD's, which is great since that's the reason many people we're turned off by the unit, but not an issue for me. I'm very happy with my current Cd playback capability. I wonder though if by the time of it's release it will offer any new capabilities/technologies, they're saying it suppose to have the same capabilities as the S1 now, but who knows for sure. I highly doubt that it will have the same robust look and feel as the S1 and I'm sure it's going to be geared a bit more mainstream. Lower prices usually mean cuts somewhere. I just hope that it doesn't offer an additional HDMI output connection or potentially 1.3.
