I know I can search and so forth but, in order to keep it simple and quick can someone tell me the disadvantage(s) of a DLP set over a plasma set? Is it only the bulb replacement cost? The DLP sets are less money and, the one I looked at in Best Buy looked pretty good. I went to the TI website and, they give advantage after advantage of DLP but, I guess this is to be expected since they make the technology. They did not cite one disadvantage.
Follow Ups:
Single-panel DLPs sometimes suffer from "rainbow" effects; not everyone is bothered by them.If you're talking front-projection DLP, there's light-control issues to deal with, maybe changing room furnishings, paint and carpet to reduce light reflection back onto the screen.
after further reading and, a visit to one of my local Best Buys again, I have decided on plasma. The picture is just brighter and with more contrast in general. It's more money for plasma but, it's more picture too.
