I am discovering the joys of recording HD movies, such as "Empire Strikes Back" from HD cable, on my HD DVR (Motorola 3416) and watching them repeatedly. The picture quality of HD recordings is just so much better than DVD's, even upscaled, especially for certain movies.
The problem is, this thing only holds 160 Gig, which is like 10-12 movies!! Who on earth would design brand new model HD DVR's (hey, Motorola) with 160 Gigs only when HD's are dirt cheap.
Which brings up the question. What can I do about this. I understand it's impossible to change the internal HD or record off of the hard drive?
Follow Ups:
First of all these are not the off the shelf drives you can buy at Best Buy so that are not all that cheap and second it's what the cable companies will buy. It's all about what the box costs them.
The Scientifc Atlanta model I'm using does.
